I'm constantly questioning what's so interesting about my life ? What's so interstng about Mercedes Cruz. I look at my relationships with my partner, my friends, family and coworkers.
I don't know why exactly I think about these relationships so often, maybe it's the constant reminder I get from the commercials, advertisements and the media, that I need this product or that one to look and feel better, to be better to have better "things". I learned that I need to take a step back away from "popular culture" once in awhile, sometimes more often.
I take a step back and with a deep breathe look at all the wonderful things in my life, I say "thank you" out loud as I picture all of the great people, things and situations in my life. And the next time I'm bumbared with commercials about my skin care or weight, that make me question myself. I know "Whats So Interesting" about me, and why I don't need "products" to make me feel or look better.
Interesting is defined as "holding or catching the attention". So next time you find yourself thinking "Whats So Interesting ?" about me; consider the characteristics you have that "hold and catch the attention" of your partner, friends and family members. The important people in your life.

Memorial Day Weekend
During this Holiday weekend many of us have plans to go to the beach, a barbecue, amusement parks, parties and many others events. All of this is fantastic and I too have plans. But I also feel it's important to step back and look at what Memorial Day means. We here in the USA have this national holiday to celebrate man and women who served in the armed forces and died as well as those who are still with us. I think giving thanks to those people is just as important. We can learn a lesson from Memorial Day weekend; which is, people we love do small things for us daily, things like pick up after us, pack us lunch , encourage us to keep moving forward, etc. and many times we don't notice, let's stop and say Thank You to our husband , wife, partner, boyfriend, girlfriend, friend,
"Thank You for all you do for us daily".
Have a beautiful Memorial Day Weekend.

"Thin Line Between Love and Hate"
Spring is here and we all want to be outside. Enjoying the weather. Sometimes by ourselves sometimes with someone else.
Whatever choice we make decides how we feel or act. I know because this happens to me. But I also know that because it is a "decision" I choose how I feel. "What are you saying Mercedes ?!" I'm saying that we don't have to allow outside influences change our mood. We can choose to be ourselves all of the time. What makes "us humans" different from other spices is the ability to think to use logic and our own experiences to live our life.
We choose between love or hate. The "thin line" is where we stand every day.

Because You Deserve It
Today I recived roses from my boyfriend. He handed them to me after I took my long afterwork shower. It was a beautiful surprise. I share this on my blog to bring up the topic of what "you deserve".
Yes each of us deserves to be pampered, to feel apperciated, loved, cared for, attended to; it's a great feeling to receive especially from someone special in your life. But it's also a great feeling to give. When I give I feel useful and powerful, because I have the ability to change another persons mood with what I do to/for another person.
With that said not everyone has that special someone to receive from or give to. That's excellent why I think it's more important to give first and formost to yourself first, because when you do this you eliminate any expections and live in the moment. "Giving and Receiving" to yourself first "because you deserve it".

"You Just Keep Writing"
At a recent Brunch with my fellow Romance Writers of America members I had the pleasure of hearing the wonderful Sandra Kitt speak. Sandra Kitt is an African-American author of contemporary romance novels. She spoke on the importance of writing what you want and how she leaves the editing to the editor. "You write down what you mean to say the first time".
I could not have been more inspired by a Romance Author to continue to write and not to let the feeling of confusion or writing for the masses stop you, "You just keep writing" she answered to one of members with a question regarding her writing style.
Inspiration is everywhere we go, we choose how and what words will effect us. So I will "just keep writing"
